First you need to realize that nursery needs light, a lot of it and if you choose the curtains which are to thick, you can loose a light coming from outside. I know that people choose thick curtains in good faith, to give their youngster a calm environment when sleeping, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Children need to observe shadows produced by the light coming trough the windows. Development of their brain is much affected by the surrounding. Abstract thinking (right side of brains) is being developed in the first couple of months. The other aspect is air. Using thick baby curtains prevents air to circulate naturally and it could quickly happen that you step in to a room full of staled air.
